“Why don’t I ever achieve my goals?” is a question I hear regularly.
It’s so easy to write out our goals, close the book and they get pushed to the back of our minds as we go about our hectic day to day lives.
So here are 5 simple yet powerful steps that work every time to achieve your goals, and the beauty is they work in both personal and professional life.
Let’s dive in……
🔥 Know Your Outcome!
What do you want to achieve?
REALLY imagine it and be clear & specific about the details including the time frame, for example, “I want to own my own house by this time next year”
By knowing exactly what you want to achieve, you can then ask yourself the right questions to enable you to reverse engineer achieving it.
🔥🔥 Take Inspired Action!
Ask yourself:
“What do I need to do to achieve my goal?”
“When do I need to do it?”
“What resources do I need?”
“Who can support me?” - Don’t be afraid to ask for help, we all need it sometimes 💕
🔥🔥🔥 Notice the Feedback!
Take stock along the way:
“What’s going well?” - Can you do more of it?
“What’s not going so well?” – Learn from the challenges and, whatever happens, know you’re in control.
“Is it what I expected and, importantly, what I still want?” - It’s OK to tweak the plan or even the original goal. There is absolutely no shame in doing so.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 Be Flexible!
There are many routes to achieve your goal. Don’t have tunnel vision in your approach.
Being flexible will give you more choice and opportunities = a better likelihood for success. Yay!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Look, Think & Be the Part!
Ask yourself:
“How would someone who has achieved this goal show up in the world?”
Show up as THAT person! As if you have achieved your goal already! LOOK, ACT and FEEL the part!!
You WILL be successful - believe in yourself 100%.
🔥🔥🔥 BONUS STEP 🔥🔥🔥
Recognise any mindset barriers that reveal themselves along the way. For example; lack of confidence, fear of judgement, failure etc.
No matter how sh**ty it may feel, acknowledge and explore them.
It is possible to overcome these limiting beliefs with work, either with the support of a Coach/NLP Practitioner or on your own. There is a plethora of great books, YouTube videos, organisations and support pages & groups on social media that can help.
