Join us for a fun hour of activity challenges that you can do right from home!

APRIL CHALLENGE

Introduction:  April showers. What is more fun than creating book titles? Put your rain boots on, jump in the puddles and get inspired!

Challenge:  Create book titles during the month of April.

Submission: Send your child's creative book title, along with their name and photo for us to feature them. If they like to draw, have them design their own book title to include with their submission!

PICK A TREE

Introduction: Trees make great "friends" when we are lacking social interactions. Pick a tree and decorate it, learn about it, protect it. There is a friend you can visit as much as you want... For life.

Challenge: Learn about a tree in your neighbourhood. How old is it? What type of tree is it?

Objective: Using organic materials create decorations for your tree. Take photos and share your creation with your friends, family and Creative Kidz.

BUILD A FORT

Introduction:  What is more fun than building a fort for your pet or yourself? Use any boxes or materials that you have in your home to build a fort.

Challenge:  Engineering process. How will you make changes to your design to improve the structure? 

Objective: Build a fun structure.

Tools: Cardboard, glue, fabric, paper, LEGO, or anything you can think of. We can't wait to see what you have come up with!

CHAIN REACTION

Introduction: Create a chain reaction of event using any item you prefer. Think about simple machines and how you can incorporate them in your construction.

Challenge: Engineering process. How will you make changes to your design or improve the structure?

Objective: Build a fun structure. 

Tools: LEGO, staws, pipes, wood sticks, cardboard, etc.

NATURE WALK

Introduction: During quarantine time, we are asked to stay-at-home so we want to encourage you to enjoy the outdoors, while exercising social distancing. 

Activity:  Take a walk in your neighbourhood, forest or nature park.

Objective: Take 10 photos and record 10 sounds that you hear. Keep your images and sounds, and write a paragraph about your nature walk!
